High School

Performing Arts

The Performing Arts department offers instrumental, vocal, and drama electives at multiple ability levels. Students may elect band to improve on their wind or percussion instrument, orchestra to improve on their string instrument, and chorus to improve their singing. Beginning guitar and music theory are offered to students wishing to advance their skills. In band there are two levels, and in chorus and drama there are three levels offered. The directors group the students by ability based upon an audition and/or director’s recommendation. Each of the groups presents public performances throughout the school year.

Co-curricular opportunities include marching band, indoor guard and drum line, jazz bands, vocal jazz ensemble, and numerous small instrumental ensembles. The department also presents a district-wide musical every winter that is open to audition by any district student.
