In the 7th Grade course, students focus on the development of skills and strategies to use in reading various types of text material. Emphasis is placed in summarizing, paraphrasing, question techniques and evaluation of written material.
In 8th grade, the emphasis is placed to the development of an increased reading rate, the expansion of vocabulary and further development of comprehension strategies.
The Reach Program is based on Scholastics Read and meets daily as a regular scheduled class.
