The 8th Grade Science curriculum is centered around
four main topics: physical science, astronomy, geology, fossils and geologic time.
The earth's weather and regional climate are also part of the curriculum and explored
on a relevancy timeline. This means that weather such as hurricanes, snowstorms,
Nor'easters, drive when and how weather processes and concepts are presented.
Parts of cinematic release movies, such as The Right
Stuff and Apollo 13, help support the curriculum.
Lab safety procedures and continued reinforcement of metric system measurement are
followed throughout the year.
