PAUL LOVAS BECOMES THE 3RD HEAD SOCCER COACH IN SR HISTORY

On June 8, the SR Board of Education approved the former Southern Regional Graduate, Varsity Soccer MVP and Hall of Fame Inductee to take over the Head Coaching Position from Coach Kmosko, who will continue on as an assistant. Coach Lovas has been coaching in the SR Soccer Program for the last 7 years. He brings extensive playing experience as a key player and 4 year starter at Averett University. He holds an NSCAA Coaching License and has established a valuable relationship with the local soccer clubs as a youth coach and a SR Soccer Program liasion.

Congratulations, Bruce Novotny!

Former SR Soccer Standout and 1979 Varsity MVP, Bruce Novotny was recently presented the "Bert Award" by the University of Notre Dame Men's Soccer Program. The prestigious award, named after former Head Coach, Mike Berticelli, is given annually to the Notre Dame Team Alumnus who most significantly contributes to the the program. Bruce created and maintains the ND Team Website. He was the first SR Soccer Alumnus to play for a NCAA Division I Program and continues to be a strong supporter of SR Boys Soccer. Well done, Bruce!
