1983 - 84 Varsity The Southern Regional Girls Soccer Program began competition in the Shore Conference during the Spring of 1976.  The State of New Jersey began competition in the Fall of 1977.  The Shore Conference and the State played in separate girls seasons until the mid 1990's when the Shore Conference switched to the Fall and joined the boys. Although the switch to the Fall was always inevitable, it gave me the opportunity to coach the SR Girls Soccer Program for 11 "very special" years.  John Depa, Southern's first Head Coach, led the program through the 1983 season.  I took over in 1984, with the first of many  wonderful teams of ladies, creating friendships that continue through today.
