Family & Consumer Sciences

The Family and Consumer Sciences Department at Southern Regional High School offers a wide variety of courses in food preparation and nutrition, clothing and textiles, child development and parenting, consumer awareness, and personal and family relations. The program is housed in 3 food labs, a sewing lab, and a child development lab. The 15 elective courses that are offered to students in grades 9-12 combine practical application and academic knowledge. This enables our students to use the life skills that they learn in each course to become successful members of their family, community, and the work force.
